Meet the face
behind the posts

My name is Nneka Owusu and I like to think of myself as a decent parent to 3 brilliant boys and a wonderful girl. When it comes to parenting any good parent will strive for perfection, but I’ve learned that those kind expectations cause stress on both parent and child. As a therapist I was taught to uncover feelings. Being a 2nd grade teacher taught me to listen to understand because jumping to conclusions will make a bigger mess of things. Most importantly, as a mom, I learned with small children their feelings matter completely.

Its wise while their little not to get wrapped up in those feelings but rather get wrapped up in facts until managing feelings is learned. I wanted to create a place where parents, new and seasoned, could learn and unlearn ideas that could help them build their children up without subconsciously tearing them down, ultimately building a community of , independent, free thinking, and decent children
